I am a Korean Canadian, digital illustrator and animator from Vancouver BC, Canada. My practices and passion revolve around character art and illustrations. My work is defined by exploring graphical shapes intermixed with bold colors and a sense of light. My artistic philosophy has been deeply driven by how color and light impact the perception of the image.

YJ Hur is a Korean Canadian artist who was raised in the north shore of North Vancouver. She graduated with a degree in 2D-Experimental Animation from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. YJ’s career aspirations are to work in illustration designing characters and to be a self-sustaining freelancer.
