Synopsis
If sugar was magic, what would a little girl wish for?
Artist Statement
Having spent the majority of my life in Canada, I felt the desire to create something that would express the nostalgia for the time of my earliest childhood in Taiwan. On making this film, I have the opportunity to incorporate my hometown of Taiwan, and my love for heartwarming stories. For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed creating stories, as it is something I've had a passion for from a young age.

Irene Lu is an animator and illustrator located in Vancouver, Canada. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan and immigrated to Canada at the age of four. Irene is a soon-to-be graduate from Emily Carr University of Art + Design Bachelor of Animation Program. She is passionate about visual storytelling, and loves bringing characters and environments to life through her animation and illustrations.
