Synopsis:
Gus wants nothing more than to sit alone in his chair and read his book, undisturbed. Not long after moving into a new apartment, he discovers he is not alone, but rather, is being haunted by an eccentric spirit clad in a white sheet. Forced to share the space with this unlikely companion, Gus must face the most terrifying prospect of all - making friends - all while avoiding the judgement of a snooty landlord.

Artist’s Statement
My work seeks to uncover the humour in everyday situations while infusing them with a bit of fantasy. I love to tell small scale character-driven stories that resonate on an emotional level. I take a no-frills approach to filmmaking, working with only the basics so as to allow for spontaneity and improvisation on set. My hope is that through my work I can provoke some smiles and help people gain appreciation for the mundane things in life.

Filmmaker's Biography:
Alejandro Peniche is a filmmaker and actor based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is set to graduate from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2022 with a Bachelor of Media Arts. His passions lie in writing and finding humour and wonder in mundane situations. Throughout his time studying he has written, directed, and starred in several comedic short films, including Murdur & Vengeance (2019) and Roomies (2022).
