Artist Statement
Since moving to Canada I have learned to appreciate more my own culture and country more. For my movie, I wanted to show all the beautiful things, from my home city, and how, even though is chaotic, it is still a beautiful place. 2D animation has always enchanted me, and seemed the best way to show all the colors from São Paulo.

For my movie, I wanted to show all the beautiful things, from my home city, and how, even though is chaotic, it is still a beautiful place. 2D animation has always enchanted me, and seemed the best way to show all the colors from São Paulo.
Julia was born and raised in São Paulo. After starting university, she decided that to best pursue her dream of becoming an animator, she had to move to Canada. Is been 4 years since she did so, and even though it has been a challenge, every day is fun and full of accomplishments. She loves martial arts and Japanese culture.
