Film Synopsis:
A depressed 18-year-old girl has dreams of reuniting with her deceased father and discovers the idea of sleeping forever in an attempt to escape from her harsh reality.

Artist's Statement:
To me, making a film means more than just shooting something and showing those to the audience. To me, making a film is to create something “real”, where it is more than just a visual auditory form of entertainment, rather, it is something that makes people feel something real and raw, something that let them experience a true emotional journey and time. With my experience as a 2D animator/illustrator, my work not only follows traditional film principles but unifies the storytelling methods used in animation along with filmmaking strategies, my work allows the viewers have truly unique experiences, where the fantasies and the realities work together as one.

Filmmaker’s Biography: 
Shinro Takada is a filmmaker/photographer/animator/illustrator/artist from Tokyo Japan, currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Shinro works in various positions from Marketing videographer/photographer/editor for companies to Production Assistant, while producing independent films of her own and her peers. Shinro gets inspirations from nature, personal life, artworks and music. Her work consists of unique ways of  storytelling merged from animations along with intimate cinematography, aiming to have real connections with the audiences through her work. Her work carries strong emotional values and unique perspectives towards the world and things around.

Shinro is currently studying film Film + Screen Arts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in pursuit of a Bachelor of Media Arts degree. Her dream is to make films that can serve as visual poetry/novel, where the visuals and storytelling and auditory elements work together, creating unique vivid emotional experiences and sensations to the viewers and audiences.
