Synopsis:
Sylvie is looking for a piece of herself. Set in the forests of the Kootenays, she searches through the winter dusk, getting pulled into other worlds of memory. When she finally meets another piece of her, they share a moment of reconciliation, and Sylvie recognizes they were not so disconnected after all. She leaves the encounter more at peace with herself, ready to continue her journey.
Filmmaker's Biography:
Kaïa Barth-Lessard is a filmmaker and musician who grew up in Kimberley, B.C. She moved to Vancouver in 2017 to attend Emily Carr University, and is currently set to graduate from the film program in the spring. Upon graduating, she hopes to continue working within the small (but mighty!) community that has formed. “Find Me at Moonrise” is a story that was born from a love of experimental narrative films and folk music. It is the first music video they have made, and she hopes to continue writing music and directing her own films in the future.
