Synopsis
The same day has been repeating for a year. Quin has spent the past year investigating and participating in hijinks to solve the anomaly, while his childhood friend Val is fed up with his childish hopes. As Quin and Val start their first day of school, Quin investigates his new teacher who turns out to be a secret agent investigating the repeats as well. He reveals to Quin that Quin himself is the cause. After a Quin narrowly escapes being killed by his teacher, he ends the repeats by confessing his feelings for Val.
Artist Statement
With my film, I wanted to work through the feeling of being stuck in a rut, emotionally and physically, through an over-the-top, crazy story. Quin, the main character, is stuck in the same day, waking up in the same house, same town, and with the same black eye on his face, but also stuck in the past with his childish ways. The film is absurdist and surreal at times, but still feels relatable because it's built on how we all neglect emotions sometimes. The film is influenced by everything late night anime and experimental surrealism.
