Duration: 2:26min
Film Synopsis:
A boy in a blank paper world, sits atop his tower alone. He idly illustrates a butterfly mid-air, which comes to life and flies away, leading his sights to a girl who paints on a watercolor tower. The painter sees the boy and decides to paint colors on the illustrated creature, which flies into the sky afterwards. Overjoyed, the two decide to collaborate, creating millions of butterflies that illuminate the sky into colors. After looking at the work they’ve created over time, the boy decides to step towards the girl and they meet face-to-face, transitioning them to live a life that compliments each other. They begin a new tower together, dancing in a duet within a renewed world.
Artist’s Statement:
The creation of ‘Duet,’ was born from my relationship with my romantic partner of seven years. In my experience, deeming them as my ‘life partner,’ means two individuals in their own journey, converge into a single path together. This film illustrates the flow of life partners, singing a duet in harmony, in a world that has no room for domination or superiority. I look towards a future of collaboration and kinship, with someone to walk the journey of life together.
