Film Synopsis: After being tasked with recovering files from her ex-coworker’s work station, our heroine comes across a forgotten folder, left behind by said colleague. Driven by nosiness- or natural human curiosity, she realises that there was more to their working relationship than she thought.
Artist's Statement:When I was young, my grandfather gave me a USB flash drive. On it were the home videos and photos he’d taken throughout his life. Everything he was, was recorded in his digital footprint. That was what inspired the aesthetic of the film. The nostalgia of a poor image.
Oftentimes in film we take painstaking measures to erase the creator, the person behind the lens. But I want to capture the shakiness, the sound of amateur hands fumbling around a cheap mic, the graininess and blown-out exposures. In an age where personal cameras are readily available, those ‘mistakes’ are proof that someone was there.
